Are you a vegitarian? If not then you have no argument. Personaly, I am not a fan of hunting… however, these animals are wild not raised for slaughter and a human must hunt and kill them in order to eat them. If an animal is hunted and every part of the animal is used for food and clothing, where is the problem. Do you own a pair of sneakers? Are they leather… ohhhh that poor cow! How about deer… is it ok to hunt them or do you only support bears?
Of coarse I dont agree with thoes who hunt any animal for sport alone, but if a family can eat for a winter and someone took the time to hunt, clean and use the animal… then I dont understand how this is worse than raising animals for slaughter. The meat is not full of preservatives and its healthier!
Oh, and just a small fact for you… did you know that the polar bear is mans ONLY natural preditor? The only animal that will hunt and kill a human is the polar bear other than that wild animals only attack people out of fear.
I support you if your attempt is to stop hunting for sport… otherwise, I have to disagree.

I have a rat terrier that is a great squirrel dog. He trees squirrels better than any other I have ever seen. He is the envy of all my hunting buds, and some of them are asking for a puppy by him. So I am considering breeding him to produce excellent hunting dogs. What type of breed would be a good choice for mating my dog? What is a good shotgun for turkey hunting?
I’m new to the turkey hunting scene and having only upland shotguns, what is a good type of shotgun for tukeys? I know everyone will say something different, but I have no idea really. What should I look for, and what should I avoid?
I agree with sturno and bigd. The Remington 870 is one of the most versatile shotguns in the world. it does everything the fancy European shotguns can do, and it costs a lot less. I use my 12 guage Remington expressmag for everything from hunting turkeys to geese, ducks, quail, chuckars and pheasants. The most important thing for turkey hunting is to select a very tight choke. when its time to hunt turkeys i simply unscrew my modified choke and screw in my turkey choke. Load it up with some 3 inch heavyshot shotgun shells and you have yourself a lethal turkey killing machine! Good luck!
*another thing about turkey hunting: its really important that you learn to call properly. most of the time when you are turkey hunting you will want to call them to you. Box calls are great for beginers, but a mouth diaphram can be really effective once you get the hang of it. Buy yourself an instructional vidio that goes over the diffent calls that turkeys make. practice at home before turkey season starts and you will have a huge advantage.
